About Me

I am 35 years old, the only human child of Sally and Jimmie Reynolds, My sister is Sassy :)   I am Married to Randy Casey, and we have a son Kaden Casey who is 9 years old. We have 4 furry kids.... I started this website to try and raise funds to help offset the enormous amount of non-covered costs related to her transplant and aftercare.   It is estimated the transplant will cost approximately $500,000. There will be at least 18 medications she needs to take for the rest of her life for anti-rejection, in addition to her other medications. This is aprroximately $5000+ per month. We live 3 hours away from the transplant center, and we are required to have one family member with my mom within a few miles of the hospital in a motel room fully equipped with a kitchen, they will have her on a strict diet, with no pre-packaged or prepared food. This is mandatory for 4-6 weeks post-operatively. We will be given a discount on the room, however it is still $89.00 a night plus the cost of groceries. My mom does have medical insurance but they cover very little other than a portion of the procedure itself.  So as you can imagine we were all overwhelmed when we saw these kinds of numbers sitting before us. My parents have already spent their entire life savings on medical bills, and many are still left unpaid. My dad is battling lung cancer, in October of 2009 he had 2 lobes of his left lung removed. He is now on oxygen, and they recently found a malignant tumor on his right lung. I am making my best attempt to take care of them and make sure they have evrything they need, but financially I can't do it.  I filed bankruptcy less than 2 years ago myself due to my son's and myself's medical bills. My son has pervasive developement disorder, which is in the Autistic spectrum, he also has ADHD, and my bills were from a 4 year battle with cancer (Melanoma). It's been a year and a half I have been in remission. Ironically, the day my oncologist called me to tell me I was in the clear was the same day my dad was first diagnosed.  My mom is a beautiful person inside and out, she's my best friend, and she gave me life. I want to do everything I can to make her world a better place, because she makes mine better by being in it. I never thought in the blink of an eye, my whole world would turn upside down. My mom has the greatest group of friends who have been keeping my sanity for me in a tidy little box and cheering me on to push harder and stronger to get things done. I thank God for them. Without them I don't think I would have made it out myself. Bless every single one of you. Thank you for taking time to read this. I really have learned how valuable time is, I had a ton of it before, now I find myself rushing to do everything, and there isn't enough time in the day to accomplish everything.  If anyone has any questions I will be more than happy to answer them.

Brandi, you are amazing. Your wonderful parents may have given you the genes and raised you right, but you're the one who had to make the best of that.

Be strong, hang on to your faith, and remember that you have more friends than you know.
